Tour Overview
Jungfraujoch on the Good Morning Ticket at three thousand four hundred and fifty-four metres before the eleven a.m. crowd, the Matterhorn east face caught in first light at seven a.m. at Gornergrat with the Riffelsee lake reflecting four thousand four hundred and seventy-eight metres of mountain, and Geneva's Lake Léman with the Jet d'Eau at sunset — premium Switzerland honeymoon nine days.
A 7-night premium Switzerland honeymoon package from India that crosses three regions rather than circling one - two nights on Lake Geneva for Chillon Castle and the Lavaux vineyards, three in Interlaken for the Schilthorn, and two in car-free Zermatt for Matterhorn Glacier Paradise at 3,883m, with the GoldenPass Express panoramic train joining the first two. May to June and September to October give the clearest summit days and the quietest hotels. Priced per person, two adults in a double room - land package, international flights excluded. Tell us your dates and we will build the quote around them.

DAY 01
Arrive Geneva & Private Transfer to Montreux
1 hr 10 min by train - Lakefront evening - Two nights beginMONTREUX
Arrive Geneva & Private Transfer to Montreux
1 hr 10 min by train - Lakefront evening - Two nights begin
- ARRIVAL
- Geneva Airport has its own station under the terminal. The train leaves from directly below arrivals and your ticket is already issued.
- TRANSFER
- An hour and ten minutes along the north shore of Lake Geneva, vineyards on one side and water on the other for the last half of it.
- CHECK-IN
- Ask for your Montreux Riviera Card. Every overnight guest in the region gets one, it is funded by the tourist tax already inside your package, and it makes local trains and buses free for both of your nights here.
- EVENING
- The Montreux promenade, which runs flat along the water past the flower beds and the Freddie Mercury statue. Free, and about as gentle a first evening as a long flight deserves.
Montreux, 3-Star
2 nights · Lake-view room · Breakfast
- Stay Two nights in a central 4-star double room with a double bed and breakfast, priced per person, two adults to the room.
- The Montreux Riviera Card, included Every overnight guest in the region gets it, funded by the tourist tax already inside your package. Free local trains and buses across Montreux, Vevey and Chillon, and half price on the castle - which is why the Chillon entry in this package costs what it does.
- Position Close to the promenade and the station, so the castle run, the boat pier and the GoldenPass departure on Day 3 are all walking distance.
- Note Shown as an example of the category and area we book in. Your confirmed property is named in your quotation. The Montreux Jazz Festival in July fills the town and moves rates.
Geneva Airport to Montreux
1 hr 10 min - Station under the terminal
- At the airport The station is directly under arrivals, with lifts down to the platform for luggage trolleys.
- The Route An hour and ten minutes along the lake to Montreux, usually with one change at Lausanne. The ticket is issued before you travel.
- No fixed time Nothing is booked for arrival day except your room, so a delayed flight costs you nothing.
- Private car option Available as an add-on if you would rather not board a train off a long flight. Quoted separately, and on a honeymoon arrival it is the upgrade most couples actually use.
The Two Summits (Included)
Schilthorn 2,970m - Matterhorn Glacier Paradise 3,883m
- Schilthorn, Day 4 - included The full return from Interlaken, the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant at 2,970m, and the Birg Thrill Walk on the way down - a walkway bolted to the cliff with a glass floor. Open all year, which is unusual at that height.
- Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, Day 7 - included The full return from Zermatt to 3,883m, the highest cable car station in Europe, with thirty-eight 4,000-metre peaks in view and the Glacier Palace ice cave cut fifteen metres into the glacier. Year round.
- Why these two They are the two most expensive lift tickets on any Swiss honeymoon route, and they are also the two that do not look like each other - one is a restaurant that turns, the other is a glacier plateau you can see Italy from. Both are halved by the card in your package.
- Weather Neither operator refunds a clouded-in summit and we will not pretend otherwise. Both tickets are valid the whole day, so a grey morning can become a clear afternoon, and Day 5 is deliberately kept free so the Schilthorn can move into it.
DAY 02
Chillon Castle, then the Lavaux vineyards by boat
Castle on the water - UNESCO terraces - Entry and cruise includedMONTREUX
Chillon Castle, then the Lavaux vineyards by boat
Castle on the water - UNESCO terraces - Entry and cruise included
- EVENING
- Yours. Montreux eats considerably cheaper than Geneva and the restaurants a street back from the promenade are the ones locals use.
- MORNING
- Chillon is four minutes from Montreux by local train, free on your guest card. It sits on its own rock in the water, parts of it go back to the 11th century, and it is the most visited historic building in Switzerland. Entry is included.
- AFTERNOON
- A Lake Geneva cruise along the Lavaux shore, included. The terraces above the water have been worked since the 11th century and have been UNESCO World Heritage since 2007 - 830 hectares of vines held up by stone walls, and the only way to see the shape of them is from the lake.
Central Interlaken, 3-Star
3 nights · Jungfrau-facing room · Breakfast + 1 private dinner
- Stay Three nights in a central 3-star double room with a double bed and breakfast - the one base where you get three evenings in the same room. Swiss 3-star is a solid standard, and central Interlaken means you walk to the stations rather than wait for a shuttle.
- Position Between the two stations, so the Lauterbrunnen and Schilthorn trains and the Harder Kulm funicular are all short walks, and the Hohematte park with the Jungfrau view is in the middle of town.
- Why Interlaken and not a mountain village Village rooms at Wengen or Murren price well above Interlaken for the same category and leave you dependent on the last cable car every evening. From here the Schilthorn, Lauterbrunnen and Harder Kulm are all day trips and the saving goes into the package.
- Note Interlaken sells out early for July and August. Your confirmed property and room category are stated in writing on your quotation before you pay anything.
GoldenPass Express, Montreux to Interlaken
3 hrs 15 min - Reserved seats - Hotel move one of two
- Route Montreux to Interlaken Ost, three hours and a quarter, direct. It runs through the Pays-d'Enhaut and over the Simmental to Lake Thun.
- Seats reserved The reservation is in the package. It matters on this train - it fills in summer and unreserved passengers stand for three hours.
- What makes it unusual It is the only train in the world with bogies that change track gauge mid-journey, so you stay in your seat where every other route would make you change trains.
- Luggage With you. There are racks at the end of each carriage, and this is one of only two moves in eight days.
Chillon, the Lake and Harder Kulm (Included)
Castle entry - Lavaux cruise - Sunset funicular
- Chillon Castle, Day 2 - included Adult entry, plus the local train from Montreux which your guest card covers. Around forty rooms including the cellars below the water line.
- Lake Geneva cruise, Day 2 - included Along the Lavaux shore, where the terraced vineyards have been worked since the 11th century and have been UNESCO World Heritage since 2007. The only way to see their shape is from the water.
- Harder Kulm, Day 5 - included The funicular above Interlaken to a platform at 1,322m that hangs over the edge, with Lake Thun on one side and Lake Brienz on the other. Go for sunset.
- Seasons to know The Harder Kulm funicular runs roughly 3 April to 29 November, with evening services only in summer. Chillon is open all year and closes on 25 December and 1 January.
DAY 03
GoldenPass Express to Interlaken
3 hrs 15 min - Panoramic - Three nights beginINTERLAKEN
GoldenPass Express to Interlaken
3 hrs 15 min - Panoramic - Three nights begin
- CHECK-IN
- Three nights in Wengen at 1,274m, on a sunny shelf facing the Jungfrau across the valley.
- EVENING
- Yours, and this is the one base where you have three of them.
- MORNING
- The GoldenPass Express from Montreux, three and a quarter hours to Interlaken Ost, with reserved seats. It climbs straight out of the vineyards and into the mountains within twenty minutes.
- WHAT IT CROSSES
- Gruyere country and the Pays-d'Enhaut, then over into the Simmental and down to Lake Thun. It is the only train in the world that changes track gauge mid-journey without you changing trains.
- AFTERNOON
- Interlaken sits between two lakes, which is where the name comes from. Check in for three nights, then the Hohematte park in the middle of town, where the Jungfrau is framed between two hotels.
Zermatt, 4-Star
2 nights - Breakfast - The dearest beds in Switzerland
- Stay Two nights in a central 4-star double room with a double bed and breakfast, within walking distance of the station. This is the one base we keep at 4-star - Zermatt is the night people remember, and the only one where the room itself is part of the view
- Being straight with you Zermatt has the highest hotel rates in Switzerland, well above Interlaken for the same category. Two nights here account for a large share of what this trip costs to put together, and that is why it is two rather than three. We would rather tell you than pad the itinerary.
- A Matterhorn-view room Quoted on request rather than listed, because it depends entirely on the property and the month. On a honeymoon this is the one room upgrade that genuinely changes the stay.
- Meals here Breakfast both mornings. No dinner is included on any night of this package, in any of the three towns.
Interlaken to Zermatt
About 2 hrs 10 min - One change at Visp - The last move
- Route Interlaken to Spiez and Visp, then the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn up the valley to Zermatt. About two hours and ten minutes, one change.
- The last hour The valley narrows from Visp onwards and the train climbs steadily. The Matterhorn does not appear until Zermatt itself, which is deliberate on the railway's part and still works.
- Luggage Zermatt is car-free, so an electric taxi or a hotel buggy covers the last few hundred metres if your room is not beside the station.
- Timing A mid-morning departure gets you in for lunch and leaves the afternoon for the village and the Kirchbrucke view.
What You Walk To, for Nothing
Staubbach Falls - Montreux promenade - Zermatt old quarter
- Lauterbrunnen Seventy-two waterfalls in one valley, with Staubbach dropping just under 300 metres behind the village and a path that goes into the rock behind the water. No ticket.
- Montreux The lakefront promenade with the flower beds, the Freddie Mercury statue and the Dents du Midi across the water, and the forty-minute walk back from Chillon along the shore.
- Zermatt The Kirchbrucke view of the Matterhorn, the Bahnhofstrasse, and the Hinterdorf quarter where 16th-century timber granaries stand on stone discs. Murren, on the Schilthorn descent, is the same kind of place.
- Zurich, on the last day Lindenhof, the Niederdorf lanes and the lake promenade at Burkliplatz, all within twenty minutes of the station.
DAY 04
Schilthorn - a revolving restaurant at 2,970m
Piz Gloria - Birg Thrill Walk - Return includedINTERLAKEN
Schilthorn - a revolving restaurant at 2,970m
Piz Gloria - Birg Thrill Walk - Return included
- MORNING
- Down the Lauterbrunnen valley and up by cable car through Murren to the summit. The whole return is included.
- PIZ GLORIA
- The summit restaurant turns a full circle in about forty-five minutes, so you see the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau line up without getting out of your chair. It opened in 1969 and a Bond film was shot here while it was still being built, which is why it has the name it has.
- BIRG THRILL WALK
- On the way down, a walkway bolted to the cliff face at Birg with a glass floor and a tunnel through the rock. It is part of your ticket and it takes about twenty minutes.
- AFTERNOON
- Back down through Murren, a car-free village on a shelf above the valley, worth half an hour before the last cable car down.
5-Star, Views and Honeymoon Requests
Quoted before you pay - requested, never promised
- Stay 5-star, all seven nights: Montreux, Interlaken and Zermatt all have palace-tier hotels and we can book them. It roughly doubles the hotel line, so we quote it rather than printing it - and we would rather you knew that before choosing than after.
- Upgrade one town only The one most couples pick is Zermatt, for a Matterhorn-view room on the two nights it actually matters, leaving Montreux and Interlaken as they are. It costs a fraction of upgrading everything.
- Honeymoon requests Tell us it is a honeymoon and we pass the usual requests to all three hotels - a higher floor, a quieter room away from the lift, flowers or a cake on arrival. These are requests to the property, not things we can confirm in advance, and we will not let you expect them. They cost nothing to ask for.
- If the property we want is full We move you to a similar-tier hotel in the same area rather than a cheaper one further out, and we tell you before you pay, not after.
Zermatt to Zurich Airport, via Zurich
About 3 hrs 10 min - Zurich stop built into the ticket
- Transfer Private car from the hotel door to the terminal, roughly 15 minutes outside rush hour.
- Route Zermatt to Visp, then on to Zurich main station and ten minutes more to the airport, arriving directly under the terminal.
- The Zurich stop One ticket, valid all day, break of journey allowed - so with an afternoon or evening flight you get two or three hours in the old town with your bags in a station locker.
- Buffer Allow five hours from Zermatt without the Zurich stop, eight with it. This is the longest day of the trip and we plan it around your actual flight time.
- Morning flight Then this does not work, and we move the last night from Zermatt to Zurich instead. It changes the price and is quoted before you book, not afterwards.
Upgrades and What You Can Add
Each one priced in your quotation
- An alpine helicopter flight Twenty to thirty minutes over the Jungfrau glaciers from Interlaken, with a glacier landing on the longer option. It is the single most expensive thing we can add to this trip and it is genuinely spectacular, which is why it is offered rather than built in - putting it in the package would raise the headline price for everyone, including the couples who would not choose it.
- The Gornergrat Bahn in Zermatt A second Zermatt summit at 3,089m, facing the Matterhorn across the valley rather than standing beside it. Half price on your card. It fits the Day 7 afternoon or replaces the Zurich stop on Day 8.
- A private car on arrival and departure Instead of the Geneva and Zurich airport trains. On a honeymoon this is the upgrade most couples actually use, and it is the cheapest of the ones listed here.
- 5-star in one town or all three Zermatt alone is the one we recommend first, for a Matterhorn-view room on the two nights it matters.
- Extra nights In any of the three towns. Interlaken is the cheapest night by a clear margin and Zermatt the dearest, which is worth knowing before you choose where to add one.
- How this works Every add-on is priced per person and confirmed in writing before you pay anything. Ask for the ones you want at enquiry and they come back costed in your quotation.
DAY 05
The valley below, and Harder Kulm at sunset
Lauterbrunnen waterfalls - Funicular - Two lakes from aboveINTERLAKEN
The valley below, and Harder Kulm at sunset
Lauterbrunnen waterfalls - Funicular - Two lakes from above
- MORNING
- Twenty minutes into the Lauterbrunnen valley, a trench with vertical rock walls and seventy-two waterfalls coming off them. Staubbach Falls drops just under 300 metres behind the village and the path goes into the rock behind the water. Free.
- AFTERNOON
- Cable car from Wengen to Männlichen, then the Panoramaweg to Kleine Scheidegg — around an hour and a quarter, almost flat, with the Eiger the whole way.
- WEATHER
- The flat valley floor walk with the Jungfrau closing the end of it, then back to Interlaken whenever you like. Nothing is scheduled.
- LATE AFTERNOON
- The Harder Kulm funicular, included - eight minutes up to a platform at 1,322m that hangs out over the edge, with Lake Thun on one side and Lake Brienz on the other and the Jungfrau opposite.
- SUNSET
- Stay for it. The platform faces the right way, the last funicular down runs late in summer, and this is the evening most couples say they remember.
DAY 06
Over to Zermatt, and the first sight of it
About 2 hrs 10 min - Car-free village - Two nightsZERMATT
Over to Zermatt, and the first sight of it
About 2 hrs 10 min - Car-free village - Two nights
- EVENING
- The old Hinterdorf quarter, where 16th-century timber granaries stand on stone discs to keep the mice out. Five minutes from the Bahnhofstrasse and almost nobody walks up there.
- MORNING
- Interlaken to Zermatt, about two hours and ten minutes with a change at Visp. The second hotel move of the trip, and the last.
- ZERMATT
- No petrol cars are allowed in the village, so it runs on electric buggies and feet. Check in, then walk up the Bahnhofstrasse to where the street ends and the mountain starts.
- AFTERNOON
- The Kirchbrucke, the small bridge over the Matter Vispa, is where the standard photograph of the Matterhorn is taken from. Two minutes from the main street and free.
DAY 07
Matterhorn Glacier Paradise - 3,883m
Highest cable car station in Europe - Glacier Palace - IncludedZERMATT
Matterhorn Glacier Paradise - 3,883m
Highest cable car station in Europe - Glacier Palace - Included
- MORNING
- Cable cars from the edge of the village up to 3,883m, the highest cable car station in Europe. The full return is included.
- AT THE TOP
- A viewing platform with thirty-eight peaks over 4,000 metres around it, and on a clear day you can see into Italy and France from the same spot. The Matterhorn is close enough here to look like a different mountain from the one in the village.
- THE GLACIER PALACE
- An ice palace cut fifteen metres inside the glacier, with sculptures and a slide, part of your ticket. It stays a few degrees below freezing all year.
- AFTERNOON
- Back down by early afternoon with the rest of the day free. Your ticket covers the whole day, so you can go up again if the cloud clears late.
DAY 08
Zurich on the way out, then home
About 3 hrs 10 min - Old town on foot - 10 min to the terminalDEPARTURE
Zurich on the way out, then home
About 3 hrs 10 min - Old town on foot - 10 min to the terminal
- CHECK-IN
- One night at a landmark Zurich hotel, positioned for the airport run rather than for sightseeing.
- MORNING
- Zermatt down the valley to Visp, then on to Zurich, about three hours and ten minutes in total. Bags into a station locker on arrival.
- ZURICH
- Lindenhof, the flat terrace where the Romans put their customs post, then the Niederdorf lanes down to the Limmat and the lake promenade at Burkliplatz. All free, all within twenty minutes of the station.
- AFTERNOON
- Ten minutes from the main station to Zurich Airport, arriving directly under the terminal.
- TIMING
- Allow five hours from Zermatt if you skip Zurich, eight if you take the stop. We build this day around the flight time you give us.

Full policy details
Cancellation Policy
- 10 or more calendar days before departure: a 30% cancellation charge applies to the eligible package amount. Choose a 70% refund in USDC or 100% of the eligible amount as Atravelx Travel Credit.
- Less than 10 calendar days before departure: 100% non-refundable. No refund or Travel Credit is ordinarily issued.
- After travel commences, or no-show: non-refundable. No refund or Travel Credit is ordinarily available.
- Days are counted as calendar days to the scheduled departure date, in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). The timestamp on your written request fixes when Atravelx received it.
- Cancellation requests must be made in writing through an authorised Atravelx channel: your concierge, info@atravelx.com or WhatsApp +91 92500 00511. A phone call alone does not cancel a booking until it is confirmed in writing.
- Quote the booking reference, the lead traveller's name and the services affected. Atravelx may ask for identity or payment verification before acting on a request.
- A reason is not needed to qualify under the 10-day window.
- Cancelling some travellers, rooms, nights or services is a package amendment, not a cancellation. It does not qualify for the 10-day refund or credit on its own, and it can change the per-person price for the remaining travellers.
Atravelx Travel Credit
- Travel Credit is issued as an Atravelx Credit Note for 100% of the eligible amount actually paid, denominated in USDC.
- The 30% cancellation charge is waived when you choose Travel Credit instead of a refund.
- Credit can be used towards any eligible service booked through Atravelx: holiday packages, stays, flights, transfers, sightseeing, car rental, visa assistance and other eligible services.
- Travel Credit is non-cash. It cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for cryptocurrency or fiat currency, or transferred to another person, unless Atravelx agrees in writing.
- The validity period and expiry date are stated on the Credit Note.
- Prices at the time of the new booking apply. Travel Credit does not hold the same hotel, room, destination, dates, itinerary, supplier, activity, package or price.
- If the new booking costs more, you pay the difference in USDC. If it costs less, the balance stays on the Credit Note under its terms.
- Once you choose Travel Credit, the choice is final. It is not later converted into a refund.
Date Change Policy
- Request date changes 10 or more calendar days before the scheduled departure date.
- A date change is not guaranteed. It depends on hotel, transfer and activity availability, supplier approval, revised room rates, seasonal pricing, blackout dates, peak-season supplements, transport costs, fare differences, supplier amendment charges and revised itinerary costs.
- If the revised package costs more, you pay the difference in USDC. Supplier amendment or date-change charges may also apply.
- A date change is confirmed only when Atravelx confirms the revised arrangements in writing.
- Requests made less than 10 calendar days before departure depend on supplier approval and cannot be guaranteed.
- A postponement or date change is not a cancellation. It does not by itself create a refund or Travel Credit entitlement.
Bundled Holiday Packages
- Atravelx holiday packages are booked and priced as bundled travel arrangements made up of several interconnected services.
- Individual components of a confirmed package cannot ordinarily be cancelled separately.
- Removing a service does not automatically entitle you to a proportionate refund or Travel Credit.
- Any request to remove, replace or modify a component is treated as a package amendment, subject to supplier approval, availability, revised pricing, amounts recoverable and applicable charges.
- A value shown against an individual service does not mean it was separately contracted or can be independently cancelled.
Visa & Travel Documentation
- Travellers are responsible for a valid passport, the right visa, transit visas, entry permits, immigration documents, health documentation and any other paperwork required by the destination or a transit country.
- Visa decisions are made solely by the relevant government, embassy, consulate or immigration authority. Atravelx does not guarantee approval, processing time or appointment availability.
- A visa refusal, delay or failure to obtain a visa does not override the cancellation conditions unless Atravelx confirms otherwise in writing.
- Government, embassy, visa application centre, biometric, courier and processing fees may be non-refundable once paid or submitted.
Refund Processing & Timeline
- Atravelx acknowledges a cancellation request within 2 working days. Acknowledgement confirms receipt, not eligibility or amount. After reviewing the booking, Atravelx confirms in writing which services are cancelled, the refundable and non-refundable components, the deductions and the refund amount.
- Approved refunds are processed within 45 working days from the date Atravelx confirms in writing that the refund is approved.
- The 45 days do not run from the booking date, the date you first asked to cancel, or the departure date.
- Working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in the United States and India.
- Refunds are calculated and paid in USDC. The refund is the eligible package amount in USDC as shown on your invoice, less the cancellation charge and any supplier deductions.
- If you paid in another cryptocurrency, the refund is still the USDC value of the eligible amount at the time of payment, not the number of coins you sent. Atravelx is not liable for changes in the market value of any coin between payment and refund.
- Refunds are sent to the wallet address the payment came from, on the same network. If that is not possible, you may nominate another wallet, which Atravelx verifies in writing before sending. Atravelx is not responsible for funds sent to a wallet address you supplied incorrectly.
- If you paid by card or bank transfer through an Atravelx payment partner, the refund goes back to that payment method where the partner supports it. Otherwise another method is agreed in writing.
- Blockchain confirmations, payment partners, card issuers and banks may add time before the funds show in your wallet or account.
- Where Atravelx cancels a confirmed booking for reasons within its reasonable control, all amounts received for the cancelled services are refunded in full, initiated within 7 working days. An alternative itinerary or Travel Credit may be offered, but you are not required to accept it instead of the refund.
- An approved refund is not replaced with Travel Credit unless you expressly agree, or the supplier itself provides only a credit or voucher under conditions disclosed before booking.
Supplier-Specific & Non-Refundable Services
- Certain services carry their own cancellation, refund or amendment terms: airline tickets, visa fees, embassy, consulate and visa-centre charges, travel insurance, rail tickets and passes, cruise and ferry bookings, event, concert, sports and attraction tickets, special-event bookings, non-refundable hotel rates, supplier deposits and any service identified as non-refundable.
- Where supplier-specific conditions were communicated in the quotation, invoice, voucher, booking confirmation or service conditions before payment, those conditions apply to that service.
- Blockchain network fees paid when you sent your payment are not part of the package amount and are not refundable.
No-Show, Unused & Partially Used Services
- No refund or Travel Credit is ordinarily provided for: no-shows, cancellation after travel has commenced, voluntarily unused services, partly completed holidays, missed hotel nights, missed transfers, missed activities or sightseeing, missed trains or other transport, traveller delays, failure to report at the required time, services missed because of documentation issues, or services missed for reasons attributable to the traveller.
- If a supplier voluntarily approves a refund in an exceptional case, Atravelx passes on the recoverable amount in USDC under the applicable supplier and booking conditions.
Booking Acceptance
- By confirming a booking and making payment, you accept the cancellation, refund, date-change, bundled-package and Travel Credit conditions in this policy.
- Conditions stated in writing for an individual booking (quotation, invoice, voucher or booking confirmation) supplement this policy. Where a supplier's terms are stricter and were disclosed before payment, they apply to that service.
- A booking is governed by the version of this policy shown on the package page on the booking date, unless a later version is more favourable to you or Atravelx agrees otherwise in writing.
- For events beyond Atravelx's reasonable control (severe weather, natural disasters, epidemics, war, civil unrest, strikes, government restrictions, border or airport closures, supplier insolvency and similar), refunds, credits, postponements or alternatives depend on the affected supplier's policy and the amounts recoverable. Atravelx helps coordinate with the suppliers.
- Nothing in this policy restricts any statutory right available to a consumer under applicable law.
Frequently asked questions
Why does this fly into Geneva and out of Zurich — is that more expensive?
Slightly, on most carriers — usually a few thousand rupees on a return fare, sometimes nothing at all. It buys you a route that never doubles back: you start on Lake Geneva and finish in Zurich, moving west to east in one direction. The alternative is a round trip from Zurich, which would cost you most of a day to get to Montreux and another to get back. Ask for an open-jaw quote when you book flights; many agents quote returns by default.
Why is Jungfraujoch not on a premium package?
At this tier, we would rather give you the Schilthorn. Jungfraujoch is a tunnel summit — you arrive underground and look out through glass at a very crowded platform. The Schilthorn puts you outside at 2,970 m, looking back at the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau as a group, with the Birg cliff walk on the way down and far fewer visitors. If you specifically want to stand at 3,454 m, we will add Jungfraujoch to Day 5 and shift the helicopter.
What does the extra money actually buy over a mid-range Swiss package
Concretely: first class instead of second on every train; 5-star and landmark hotels instead of 3- or 4-star; private chauffeured airport transfers at both ends; three dinners instead of one; a helicopter flight; Prestige Class on the panoramic train; luggage moved between two car-free villages so you travel with a day bag; and a named concierge rather than a call centre. Less concretely, it buys two extra nights and one fewer hotel change, which is what actually makes a honeymoon feel unhurried.
Can we get a Matterhorn-view room, and is it worth the supplement?
You can request it, and it's priced as a supplement once the hotel confirms. Whether it is worth it depends on you: the Matterhorn is visible from the village street, from the Kirchbrücke five minutes away, and from the cable car — you will see it constantly regardless. What the room buys is seeing it from bed at sunrise, which, for a two-night honeymoon stay, a lot of couples decide is worth it. We will quote the difference so you can decide rather than guess.
Are the suite upgrades guaranteed?
No — they can request them at all four hotels and release them at the hotel's discretion on arrival. What is guaranteed is the room category you pay for, late check-out in Zermatt, in-room arrival setup, and your concierge chasing each property in the week before you travel. If a hotel offers a paid upgrade at booking, we pass that on to you with the price rather than absorbing it quietly.
When should we travel for this specific route?
Late June to mid-September is the sweet spot. You need the Lavaux vineyards green, the Schilthorn cableway on full schedule, and settled morning weather for the helicopter — all three line up in that window. September is the quietest of the good months, and the Lavaux harvest makes the Day 2 tasting better. Avoid late October onwards: mountain services thin out, several Wengen and Zermatt hotels close between seasons, and the helicopter cancels far more often.
Do we need formal clothes for the hotels?
Smart casual covers everything on this itinerary. The Montreux and Zurich hotels have restaurants where a jacket looks right at dinner, and the Zermatt hotel is more relaxed in the evening because everyone has been on a mountain all day. There is no hard dress code at any of the three included dinners. Pack layers and proper walking shoes over anything formal — the Männlichen path and the Zermatt village streets matter more than the dining room.
Can we add the Glacier Express or extend the trip?
Yes. The most requested extension is the Glacier Express Excellence Class from Zermatt to St. Moritz, with two nights in the Engadin, which adds two days and a meaningful amount to the price—it is adults-only, with a guaranteed window seat, an onboard concierge, and a multi-course meal. Other common changes are a third Zermatt night in place of the Zurich one, and adding Gornergrat to the free Day 7 afternoon. Each is re-quoted before you confirm.
What makes this a premium honeymoon rather than a standard one?
Three things. The range - three regions in one trip, with Lake Geneva, the Bernese Oberland and Valais all looking and sounding different from each other, where most Swiss honeymoons stay in one valley. The hotels - central in all three towns rather than a cheaper property out of town, and 4-star in Zermatt, which is the one night where the room is part of what you came for. Montreux and Interlaken are good central 3-star, because you leave them early both mornings. And the content - two of the most expensive lift tickets in Switzerland, a panoramic train with reserved seats, a lake castle and a UNESCO vineyard cruise, all inside the package rather than sold to you later. What it is not is a 5-star palace-hotel trip; that is quoted as an upgrade and we are upfront that it costs considerably more.
Is moving between three hotels in 8 days too much?
Two moves in eight days is not much, and one of them is the GoldenPass Express, which is a highlight rather than a chore. The nights are split two, three and two, so you get three evenings in the same room in Interlaken and two in each of the others - never a one-night stop. The alternative would be staying in one place and day-tripping, but Montreux to Zermatt is four hours each way, so that would cost you more time than it saves.
Is two nights enough in Zermatt?
For Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and the village, yes, and there is a reason it is two. Zermatt has the highest hotel rates in Switzerland, so a third night there costs noticeably more than a third night in Interlaken. Two nights gives you a full summit day plus two chances at a clear Matterhorn, which is what most people need - the mountain builds its own cloud at midday and shows itself early morning and evening. If you want the Gornergrat Bahn as well, add a night and we will quote it.
Why Interlaken and not a village like Wengen or Murren?
Honestly, price and freedom. Village rooms above the valley cost well above Interlaken for the same category, and they tie your evenings to the last cable car down. From Interlaken, the Schilthorn, Lauterbrunnen, and Harder Kulm are all easy day trips; you are between two stations, and the savings go into the package rather than the view from the window. You still see the villages - Murren is on the Schilthorn descent, and Lauterbrunnen is on the Day 5 morning. If you specifically want to sleep above the valley, say so, and we will quote it.
What happens if a summit is covered in cloud?
Being straight with you: neither operator refunds for weather, and no tour company can change that. What we do is build the trip so you have options. Day 5 is deliberately left free, so if Day 4 looks closed in, we move the Schilthorn into it. Both summit tickets are valid the whole day, so a grey morning can become a clear afternoon. And in Zermatt you have two nights, which usually means at least one clear window at the Matterhorn. Go up early on both summit days - mornings clear far more often than afternoons do.
Is the Swiss Travel Pass better for this trip?
We ran both, which is the only way to answer it. The pass makes the GoldenPass Express, the Lake Geneva cruise and Chillon free, which sounds persuasive - but the two summit tickets stay expensive with it, and the pass itself is a large fixed cost over eight days. The Half Fare Card halves both summits, every train, the funicular and the boat, and comes out clearly cheaper on this exact route. That is why the card is in your package. On a route with more travel days and fewer big lifts, the answer flips, and on some of our other packages it does.
What can you arrange for a honeymoon?
Tell us at enquiry, and we will pass the usual requests to all three hotels - a higher floor, a quieter room away from the lift, flowers or a cake on arrival. These cost nothing to ask for, but they are requests to the property, not something we can confirm in advance, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can actually commit to is quoted: a Matterhorn-view room in Zermatt, a 5-star upgrade in one town or all three, private car transfers at both airports, and the helicopter flight. We recommend the Zermatt view room first.
Is vegetarian or Indian food available on this route?
Vegetarian, yes, everywhere - rosti, alpine macaroni, soups, pasta and salads are on every menu including the summit restaurants, and Swiss kitchens handle the word without confusion. Indian food is thinner. Interlaken has a few Indian restaurants and is used to Indian travellers; Montreux has one or two; Zermatt has very little. If you want Indian food most evenings, tell us at enquiry and we will say honestly which nights it will be possible. Jain requirements need advance notice rather than being arranged on the day.
What should we pack?
A proper jacket, gloves and a cap, in every month of the year. Matterhorn Glacier Paradise sits in permanent ice and the Glacier Palace is below freezing even in July; Schilthorn is windy at 2,970m. The mistake most Indian travellers make is treating a June trip as a summer trip - it is summer in Montreux and winter at both summits, and you move between them in a couple of hours. Closed shoes with grip, sunglasses and sunscreen for the glare off snow. Everything else is ordinary city clothing; you need no technical gear for anything in this package.
Are the hotels confirmed?
No - the properties shown are examples of the category and central areas we book in: 3-star in Montreux and Interlaken, 4-star in Zermatt - not a held booking. Your actual hotel is named in your quotation before you pay anything. Zermatt is the tightest of the three, and Montreux moves sharply around the Jazz Festival in July. If the property we want is unavailable, we move you to a similar-tier alternative in the same area and tell you ahead of time, not on arrival.
Do Indian passport holders need a visa for Switzerland?
Yes. Switzerland is in the Schengen area, so Indian passport holders need a Schengen visa before travelling. We help with the documentation, the hotel confirmations, the itinerary letter and the appointment, but the visa fee and the VFS Global service charges are not in the package price and the decision is the consulate's alone. Appointment waiting times move through the year, so apply early and reconfirm the current requirement for your travel dates rather than relying on this page.
