Tour Overview
Grand Hotel Belvedere Grindelwald with the Eiger north face filling the suite window at dawn, Mont Cervin Palace Zermatt with a Matterhorn-facing terrace, the Glacier Express in a first-class panoramic car for two hundred and ninety-one tunnels and ninety-one viaducts, and Badrutt's Palace St. Moritz on the frozen lake at dusk — luxury Switzerland honeymoon ten days.
A 10-day luxury Switzerland honeymoon package from India - one night in Zurich on arrival, three in Grindelwald under the Eiger, three in car-free Zermatt and two in St. Moritz, reached by the Glacier Express in Excellence Class. Best from late June to mid-September, when every summit lift runs its full schedule, and the Glacier Express is on its summer timetable.
This is the longest and highest-specified route we build. Two of the four bases are car-free mountain villages reached only by rail, and three of them get three or more nights, so the week is spent in places rather than between them. First class on every train, private transfers at both ends, and luggage moved between the car-free villages so you travel with a day bag.

DAY 01
Arrive Zurich
Private transfer from the airport - Old Town eveningZURICH
Arrive Zurich
Private transfer from the airport - Old Town evening
- ARRIVAL
- Your driver meets you inside the arrivals hall with a name board. Luggage goes straight into the car.
- CHECK-IN
- One night at a landmark Zurich hotel. Starting here means you sleep off the flight rather than spending it on a mountain train.
- EVENING
- The lake promenade. In summer the light holds until nearly ten. Your concierge will book dinner wherever you like.
- AFTERNOON
- The Niederdorf lanes, the Lindenhof terrace and the Limmat quays - all within walking distance and none of it ticketed.
Zurich Landmark Hotel
1 night - Double bed - Breakfast - City centre
- Stay One night at a 5-star in central Zurich, between the lake and Bahnhofstrasse. An arrival night that feels like part of the trip rather than an airport stopover.
- Requested Suite-category upgrade and in-room arrival setup are requested with the booking, and released at the hotel's discretion on arrival.
- Note The confirmed property is named in your quotation. If it is unavailable for your dates, an equivalent Zurich 5-star is offered.
Zurich Airport to Hotel
Private chauffeured car - 15 min
- Meet and greet Your driver waits inside the arrivals hall. No queue, no app, no luggage haul to a platform after a long flight.
- Duration About fifteen minutes to a central Zurich hotel outside rush hour.
- Rail alternative The airport train takes ten minutes and is covered by your pass. We use a car so day one asks nothing of you.
Jungfraujoch (Included)
3,454m - Sphinx terrace - Ice Palace - Aletsch Glacier
- Included The full return journey from Grindelwald, Eiger Express gondola and Jungfrau Railway, with the summit supplement on top of your pass.
- At the top Europe's highest railway station, the Sphinx terrace at 3,571m, the Ice Palace, and the Aletsch Glacier below.
- Weather Visibility at the summit varies. The railway runs on all but severe-weather days; check the live summit webcam before you set off.

- RAIL
- Zurich to Bern to Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald, about three hours in first class with two cross-platform changes.
- AFTERNOON
- The Terrassenweg above the village is flat, free and gives the classic Eiger view without a lift ticket.

3 nights - Double bed - Breakfast - Under the Eiger
- Stay Three nights in Grindelwald, close to the Grindelwald Terminal for the Eiger Express and to the First gondola.
- Eiger-facing rooms Limited in every Grindelwald property and priced as a supplement. We confirm the aspect in writing on your quotation rather than assuming it here.
- Note Grindelwald's top tier is smaller than Zermatt's - the property offered is the best available at your dates and is named in the quotation.
Zurich to Grindelwald
Via Bern & Interlaken - 3 hrs - 1st class
- Route: Zurich to Bern to Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald, two cross-platform changes, hourly through the day.
- Best seats Right side out of Interlaken for Lake Brienz, then the climb up the Lutschine valley with the Eiger growing ahead.
- No reservation Swiss intercity and mountain trains do not need seat bookings. First class means space is rarely an issue.
Gornergrat & Matterhorn Glacier Paradise (Included)
3,089m cog railway - 3,883m cable car - Glacier Palace
- Gornergrat Return trip on Europe's highest open-air cog railway to 3,089m, with the Gorner Glacier and Monte Rosa at the top. Included.
- Matterhorn Glacier Paradise Return cable car to 3,883m, the highest cable car station in Europe, with Glacier Palace ice cave entry. Included.
- Two angles Gornergrat gives you the classic Matterhorn profile across the valley. Glacier Paradise puts you level with it. Doing both is the point of three Zermatt nights.
- Altitude Two high mornings in two days. Keep each visit short and drink more water than feels necessary.
DAY 03
Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe
3,454m - Eiger Express from the village - Full dayGRINDELWALD
Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe

- The Eiger Express gondola from Grindelwald Terminal to Eigergletscher, then the Jungfrau Railway through the Eiger and Monch to Europe's highest railway station.
- AT THE TOP
- The Sphinx observation terrace at 3,571m, the Ice Palace carved into the glacier, and the Aletsch - the longest glacier in the Alps - running away below.
- WHY THE VILLAGE BASE HELPS
- Starting from Grindelwald rather than Interlaken cuts roughly an hour off each leg, which on a summit day is worth more than it sounds.
- ALTITUDE
- 3,454m is high enough that many people feel it briefly. Move slowly up there and keep the visit to two or three hours.
Zermatt 5-Star with Spa
3 nights - Double bed - Breakfast - Car-free village
- Stay Three nights at a 5-star with a full spa - which matters more than it sounds after a 3,883m morning and a 3,089m one.
- Matterhorn rooms Requested and priced as a supplement once the hotel confirms. Not every 5-star room in Zermatt faces the mountain, whatever the listing photos suggest.
- Arrival Electric shuttle from the station. Petrol cars have not been allowed in the village since 1961.
Grindelwald to Zermatt
Via Spiez & Visp - 3 hrs 30 min - Luggage forwarded
- Route Grindelwald to Interlaken to Spiez through the Lotschberg to Visp, then the narrow-gauge climb to Zermatt. Three changes, all cross-platform, all first class.
- Luggage service Bags collected from your Grindelwald room and delivered to Zermatt. On a car-free-to-car-free transfer this is the single most useful thing in the package.
- Pack an overnight bag Your main luggage travels separately and may arrive after you do.
Grindelwald First & Diavolezza (Included)
2,168m Cliff Walk - 2,980m Bernina glacier terrace
- Grindelwald First Return gondola to 2,168m with the First Cliff Walk, and the easy hour-long path to Bachalpsee. Included.
- Diavolezza Return rail and cable car from St. Moritz to roughly 2,980m, looking across at Piz Palu, Piz Bernina and the glaciers between them. Included.
- Weather Both are cable-car dependent and close occasionally for wind. If one is shut, it moves to another day of your stay or a comparable alternative is offered at no extra cost.
DAY 04
Grindelwald First & the Valley
2,168m - Cliff Walk - Bachalpsee - Free afternoonGRINDELWALD
Grindelwald First & the Valley
2,168m - Cliff Walk - Bachalpsee - Free afternoon
- MORNING
- Gondola from the village to First at 2,168m, then the First Cliff Walk - a steel gallery bolted to the rock with the Eiger straight ahead.
- THE WALK
- The path to Bachalpsee is about an hour each way on an easy track, with the Schreckhorn reflected in the lake on a still morning.
- AFTERNOON
- Deliberately free. After a 3,454m day, most couples want it - and it doubles as the buffer if weather moved anything.
- OPTIONAL
- The Glacier Canyon walkways, or the First Glider and Mountain Cart if you want something less serene. Bookable on the day.
St. Moritz 5-Star
2 nights - Double bed - Breakfast - Engadin valley
- Stay Two closing nights in St. Moritz, the quietest valley on the route and the one the trip winds down in.
- Position Close enough to the station for both the Bernina line on Day 9 and the Albula departure on Day 10.
- Alternative If the flight home allows it, this can become a third Zermatt night instead - ask and we will re-quote.
Glacier Express - Excellence Class
Zermatt to St. Moritz - 8 hrs - Seat pre-reserved
- Route The full run east - 291 bridges, 91 tunnels, the Oberalp Pass at 2,033m, the Rhine Gorge and the Landwasser Viaduct.
- Excellence Class Adults only, with a concierge in the coach, a welcome glass on boarding and a multi-course meal served at your table. A window seat is requested, subject to the operator's seat map.
- Reservation Compulsory, and Excellence Class carries a small number of seats per departure. Booked and issued with your documents.
Add-Ons at This Tier
Helicopter flight - Bernina Express - Photoshoot - Spa
- Alpine helicopter flight Over the Jungfrau-Aletsch massif from the Interlaken area, on your free Grindelwald afternoon. Weather dependent and refunded if it cannot fly.
- Bernina Express The UNESCO Bernina line south to Tirano in Italy and back, from St. Moritz. Needs an extra Engadin night.
- Honeymoon photoshoot A local photographer for an hour in Zermatt at first light, when the Matterhorn catches colour and the village is empty.
- Spa and dining Couples treatments at the Zermatt spa, or a table at a mountain restaurant reached by cable car.

- BEST SEATS
- Right side going up. The Gorner Glacier opens out on the final stretch, with Monte Rosa - Switzerland's highest peak - behind it.
- WALK A STAGE
- The path down from Gornergrat to Rotenboden is short and easy, and gets you away from the summit platform.
- AFTERNOON
- Free in the village. The hotel spa is worth using after two high-altitude mornings in four days.

Full policy details
Cancellation Policy
- 10 or more calendar days before departure: a 30% cancellation charge applies to the eligible package amount. Choose a 70% refund in USDC or 100% of the eligible amount as Atravelx Travel Credit.
- Less than 10 calendar days before departure: 100% non-refundable. No refund or Travel Credit is ordinarily issued.
- After travel commences, or no-show: non-refundable. No refund or Travel Credit is ordinarily available.
- Days are counted as calendar days to the scheduled departure date, in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). The timestamp on your written request fixes when Atravelx received it.
- Cancellation requests must be made in writing through an authorised Atravelx channel: your concierge, info@atravelx.com or WhatsApp +91 92500 00511. A phone call alone does not cancel a booking until it is confirmed in writing.
- Quote the booking reference, the lead traveller's name and the services affected. Atravelx may ask for identity or payment verification before acting on a request.
- A reason is not needed to qualify under the 10-day window.
- Cancelling some travellers, rooms, nights or services is a package amendment, not a cancellation. It does not qualify for the 10-day refund or credit on its own, and it can change the per-person price for the remaining travellers.
Atravelx Travel Credit
- Travel Credit is issued as an Atravelx Credit Note for 100% of the eligible amount actually paid, denominated in USDC.
- The 30% cancellation charge is waived when you choose Travel Credit instead of a refund.
- Credit can be used towards any eligible service booked through Atravelx: holiday packages, stays, flights, transfers, sightseeing, car rental, visa assistance and other eligible services.
- Travel Credit is non-cash. It cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for cryptocurrency or fiat currency, or transferred to another person, unless Atravelx agrees in writing.
- The validity period and expiry date are stated on the Credit Note.
- Prices at the time of the new booking apply. Travel Credit does not hold the same hotel, room, destination, dates, itinerary, supplier, activity, package or price.
- If the new booking costs more, you pay the difference in USDC. If it costs less, the balance stays on the Credit Note under its terms.
- Once you choose Travel Credit, the choice is final. It is not later converted into a refund.
Date Change Policy
- Request date changes 10 or more calendar days before the scheduled departure date.
- A date change is not guaranteed. It depends on hotel, transfer and activity availability, supplier approval, revised room rates, seasonal pricing, blackout dates, peak-season supplements, transport costs, fare differences, supplier amendment charges and revised itinerary costs.
- If the revised package costs more, you pay the difference in USDC. Supplier amendment or date-change charges may also apply.
- A date change is confirmed only when Atravelx confirms the revised arrangements in writing.
- Requests made less than 10 calendar days before departure depend on supplier approval and cannot be guaranteed.
- A postponement or date change is not a cancellation. It does not by itself create a refund or Travel Credit entitlement.
Bundled Holiday Packages
- Atravelx holiday packages are booked and priced as bundled travel arrangements made up of several interconnected services.
- Individual components of a confirmed package cannot ordinarily be cancelled separately.
- Removing a service does not automatically entitle you to a proportionate refund or Travel Credit.
- Any request to remove, replace or modify a component is treated as a package amendment, subject to supplier approval, availability, revised pricing, amounts recoverable and applicable charges.
- A value shown against an individual service does not mean it was separately contracted or can be independently cancelled.
Visa & Travel Documentation
- Travellers are responsible for a valid passport, the right visa, transit visas, entry permits, immigration documents, health documentation and any other paperwork required by the destination or a transit country.
- Visa decisions are made solely by the relevant government, embassy, consulate or immigration authority. Atravelx does not guarantee approval, processing time or appointment availability.
- A visa refusal, delay or failure to obtain a visa does not override the cancellation conditions unless Atravelx confirms otherwise in writing.
- Government, embassy, visa application centre, biometric, courier and processing fees may be non-refundable once paid or submitted.
Refund Processing & Timeline
- Atravelx acknowledges a cancellation request within 2 working days. Acknowledgement confirms receipt, not eligibility or amount. After reviewing the booking, Atravelx confirms in writing which services are cancelled, the refundable and non-refundable components, the deductions and the refund amount.
- Approved refunds are processed within 45 working days from the date Atravelx confirms in writing that the refund is approved.
- The 45 days do not run from the booking date, the date you first asked to cancel, or the departure date.
- Working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in the United States and India.
- Refunds are calculated and paid in USDC. The refund is the eligible package amount in USDC as shown on your invoice, less the cancellation charge and any supplier deductions.
- If you paid in another cryptocurrency, the refund is still the USDC value of the eligible amount at the time of payment, not the number of coins you sent. Atravelx is not liable for changes in the market value of any coin between payment and refund.
- Refunds are sent to the wallet address the payment came from, on the same network. If that is not possible, you may nominate another wallet, which Atravelx verifies in writing before sending. Atravelx is not responsible for funds sent to a wallet address you supplied incorrectly.
- If you paid by card or bank transfer through an Atravelx payment partner, the refund goes back to that payment method where the partner supports it. Otherwise another method is agreed in writing.
- Blockchain confirmations, payment partners, card issuers and banks may add time before the funds show in your wallet or account.
- Where Atravelx cancels a confirmed booking for reasons within its reasonable control, all amounts received for the cancelled services are refunded in full, initiated within 7 working days. An alternative itinerary or Travel Credit may be offered, but you are not required to accept it instead of the refund.
- An approved refund is not replaced with Travel Credit unless you expressly agree, or the supplier itself provides only a credit or voucher under conditions disclosed before booking.
Supplier-Specific & Non-Refundable Services
- Certain services carry their own cancellation, refund or amendment terms: airline tickets, visa fees, embassy, consulate and visa-centre charges, travel insurance, rail tickets and passes, cruise and ferry bookings, event, concert, sports and attraction tickets, special-event bookings, non-refundable hotel rates, supplier deposits and any service identified as non-refundable.
- Where supplier-specific conditions were communicated in the quotation, invoice, voucher, booking confirmation or service conditions before payment, those conditions apply to that service.
- Blockchain network fees paid when you sent your payment are not part of the package amount and are not refundable.
No-Show, Unused & Partially Used Services
- No refund or Travel Credit is ordinarily provided for: no-shows, cancellation after travel has commenced, voluntarily unused services, partly completed holidays, missed hotel nights, missed transfers, missed activities or sightseeing, missed trains or other transport, traveller delays, failure to report at the required time, services missed because of documentation issues, or services missed for reasons attributable to the traveller.
- If a supplier voluntarily approves a refund in an exceptional case, Atravelx passes on the recoverable amount in USDC under the applicable supplier and booking conditions.
Booking Acceptance
- By confirming a booking and making payment, you accept the cancellation, refund, date-change, bundled-package and Travel Credit conditions in this policy.
- Conditions stated in writing for an individual booking (quotation, invoice, voucher or booking confirmation) supplement this policy. Where a supplier's terms are stricter and were disclosed before payment, they apply to that service.
- A booking is governed by the version of this policy shown on the package page on the booking date, unless a later version is more favourable to you or Atravelx agrees otherwise in writing.
- For events beyond Atravelx's reasonable control (severe weather, natural disasters, epidemics, war, civil unrest, strikes, government restrictions, border or airport closures, supplier insolvency and similar), refunds, credits, postponements or alternatives depend on the affected supplier's policy and the amounts recoverable. Atravelx helps coordinate with the suppliers.
- Nothing in this policy restricts any statutory right available to a consumer under applicable law.
Frequently asked questions
What exactly is Excellence Class, and is it worth it?
It is the top tier on the Glacier Express - an adults-only coach with a dedicated concierge, a welcome glass on boarding and a multi-course meal served at your table across the journey. It is the second-largest single cost in this package after hotels. Whether it is worth it depends on how you see the day: in standard class, the eight hours are a beautiful transfer; in Excellence Class, they are one of the days of the trip. If you would rather put that money into rooms, we will quote a standard first-class reservation instead, and you will see the difference.
Will we get a window seat on the Glacier Express?
We request one, and in Excellence Class most seats are by a window, but the rail operator controls seat assignments at booking, so we can't promise a specific seat. Booking early improves the odds considerably, which is one reason we hold this reservation before anything else in the itinerary.
Why Grindelwald instead of Interlaken for the Jungfraujoch?
Because Grindelwald is where the mountain actually starts. The Eiger Express gondola leaves from Grindelwald Terminal, which cuts roughly an hour off each leg of the Jungfraujoch day compared with starting in Interlaken. You also wake up with the Eiger North Face above the village rather than an hour's train ride away, and Grindelwald First is a gondola from the same village. Interlaken is a town between two lakes; Grindelwald is in the mountains.
Gornergrat and Matterhorn Glacier Paradise both - isn't that the same mountain twice?
Same mountain, genuinely different days. Gornergrat is a cog railway across the valley from the Matterhorn, so you get the classic profile with the Gorner Glacier and Monte Rosa alongside it. Glacier Paradise takes you up the other side to 3,883m, level with the peak and on permanent snow, with the ice cave below the station. Doing both on consecutive mornings is largely why I chose three Zermatt nights rather than two.
Are the suite upgrades and view rooms confirmed?
No. They request them with every booking and release them at each hotel's discretion, usually on arrival. Your quotation states the room category you are paying for and the confirmed property. If a hotel offers a paid upgrade at booking, we pass it on to you with the price rather than absorbing it quietly. Any agency that tells you a suite or a Matterhorn view is locked in months ahead is describing something they do not control.
Four summits in ten days - is the altitude a problem?
For most people, no, but it is worth planning for. Jungfraujoch at 3,454m and Matterhorn Glacier Paradise at 3,883m are both high enough that some people feel light-headed or breathless for a while. Everything is reached by train or cable car with no exertion, the visits are short, and you return to 1,000-1,600m each night, which is what makes it manageable. If either of you has a heart or breathing condition, tell us at enquiry, and we will pace those two days differently or substitute a lower summit.
Both Grindelwald and Zermatt are car-free. What happens to our luggage?
It is handled on the one leg where it matters. Bags are collected from your Grindelwald room on the morning of Day 5 and delivered to your Zermatt room, so you travel with a day bag through three train changes. Pack an overnight bag for that day, since your main luggage travels separately and may arrive after you do. On arrival in each village, the hotel's electric shuttle meets the train.
What happens if the weather closes a summit?
The free Grindelwald afternoon on Day 4 is the main buffer, and with three nights in both Grindelwald and Zermatt there is usually room to move an excursion to another day of your stay. If that is not possible, a comparable alternative is offered at no extra cost, and anything that still cannot run is refunded. The Glacier Express itself operates in almost all conditions.
When should we travel for this route?
Late June to mid-September. You need all four summit lifts on a full schedule, the Glacier Express on its summer timetable and settled weather for the high mornings. Early September is the quietest of the good months with the clearest air for Gornergrat. From late October, the picture changes a lot - several Grindelwald and Zermatt hotels close between seasons, and the Glacier Express moves to a reduced winter service, so we would build a different itinerary rather than a thinner version of this one.
Can we shorten it or move nights around?
Yes. The most common changes are dropping the St. Moritz nights and returning west after the Glacier Express, swapping the St. Moritz nights for a fourth in Zermatt, and adding a Zurich airport-side night when the return flight is early. Shortening below nine nights means cutting either a base or the Excellence Class leg, and we will tell you plainly which one costs you more. We re-quote every change before you confirm.
