Tour Overview

Launch from Beatenberg at one thousand one hundred and thirty metres in tandem paragliding and watch the Thuner See and Brienzersee pass below your feet, then stand on Europe's highest railway station at three thousand four hundred and fifty-four metres on the first cogwheel before the crowds — Jungfrau adventure six days.

Switzerland Jungfrau Adventure Tour Package — Tour Overview

An 8-day Jungfrau region adventure package from India — four nights in Interlaken and three in Grindelwald, thirty minutes apart, with a 6-day Jungfrau Travel Pass covering the trains, gondolas and funiculars in between. Best from June to September, when every lift runs its full schedule and the paragliding and Mountain Cart seasons are both open.

This package is not a Switzerland tour with an activity bolted on. It stays inside one mountain region for the whole week so that no day is spent in transit — which is what leaves room for a tandem flight, a zipline, a cart run and a glacier gorge alongside Jungfraujoch itself. Canyoning is deliberately kept optional rather than bundled, because it is expensive enough to change the price of the whole trip.

InterlakenGrindelwaldDeparture

DAY 01

Arrive Zurich → Interlaken

Rail via Bern · ~2 hrs · Four nights begin
INTERLAKEN
Interlaken day image
ARRIVAL
Land at Zurich Airport. The train station is directly beneath arrivals — no shuttle, no transfer vehicle to find.
CHECK-IN
Four nights in central Interlaken, between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz.
EVENING
The Höhematte meadow and the Aare promenade. Watch the paragliders landing in the middle of town — that is you on Day 3.
RAIL
Zurich Airport → Bern → Interlaken Ost, about two hours with one cross-platform change. Ticket included.
Hotels

Central Interlaken Hotel

4 nights · Double bed · Breakfast · Walk to Interlaken Ost

  • Stay Four nights in central Interlaken, within walking distance of Interlaken Ost — where the Jungfraujoch, Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald trains all leave from.
  • Why central Your paragliding landing zone is the Höhematte, in the middle of town. A hotel on the edge would mean a shuttle after the flight.
  • Note The confirmed property is named in your quotation. Jungfrau-facing rooms are limited in every Interlaken hotel and priced as a supplement.
Transfers

Zurich Airport → Interlaken

  • At the airport The SBB station is directly under arrivals. Escalator down, platform, done.
  • Route Zurich Airport → Bern → Interlaken Ost, about two hours with one cross-platform change. Trains run hourly.
  • Pass timing Your Jungfrau Travel Pass starts on Day 2, so this leg is a separate ticket — already bought and issued with your documents.
Activities

Jungfraujoch — Top of Europe (Included)

3,454m · Sphinx terrace · Ice Palace · Aletsch Glacier

  • Included The full return journey plus the Jungfraujoch supplement on top of your pass — nothing further to pay on the day.
  • At the top Europe's highest railway station, the Sphinx observation terrace at 3,571m, the Ice Palace, and the Aletsch Glacier stretching away below.
  • Altitude 3,454m is high enough that many people feel it briefly. Move slowly up there and keep the visit to two or three hours.

DAY 02

Jungfraujoch — Top of Europe

3,454m · Cog railway through the Eiger · Full day
INTERLAKEN
magnificent view of Jungfraujoch
THE CLIMB
Interlaken Ost → Lauterbrunnen → Wengen → Kleine Scheidegg, then the Jungfrau Railway's seven-kilometre tunnel bored through the Eiger and Mönch.
AT THE TOP
Europe's highest railway station at 3,454m, the Sphinx terrace at 3,571m, the Ice Palace carved into the glacier, and the Aletsch — the longest glacier in the Alps — below you.
COMING DOWN
Return via Grindelwald and the Eiger Express gondola for a completely different valley on the way back.
START EARLY
The first trains leave Interlaken Ost around 7:30 AM, and the summit is clearest before midday cloud builds.
Hotels

Grindelwald Village Hotel

3 nights · Double bed · Breakfast · Under the Eiger

  • Stay Three nights in Grindelwald village, close to the First gondola station and the Glacier Canyon path.
  • The view The Eiger north face rises directly above the village. Even a standard room here gives you more mountain than most Interlaken rooms do.
  • Note Suggested at the same category as Base 1; a comparable Grindelwald village hotel is provided if unavailable for your dates.
Transfers

Interlaken → Grindelwald

35 min · The only hotel change

  • Route Interlaken Ost → Grindelwald on the Bernese Oberland Railway, roughly every half hour. Covered by your pass.
  • The ride Thirty-five minutes climbing beside the Lütschine river with the Eiger growing in the windscreen.
  • Luggage Both stations are step-free with lifts, and Grindelwald hotels are a short walk or a village bus from the platform.
Activities

Tandem Paragliding (Included)

Launch from Beatenberg · Land on the Höhematte

  • Included A tandem paragliding flight with a licensed pilot, launching above Lake Thun and landing on the meadow in the centre of Interlaken.
  • No experience needed: You run a few steps off the slope and the pilot flies. Weight and age limits apply and vary by operator — we confirm them against your group before booking.
  • Weather Flights are cancelled for wind, cloud or rain and the operator's call is final. Day 7 is held as the backup slot; if neither flies, the flight is refunded in full.

INTERLAKEN
Paragliding over interlaken
MORNING
Tandem paraglide launched from Beatenberg above Lake Thun, landing on the Höhematte meadow in the middle of Interlaken. No experience needed — you run three steps and the pilot does the rest.
AFTERNOON
The Schynige Platte railway from Wilderswil — open wooden carriages, unchanged since 1893, climbing to 1,967m at walking pace.
AT THE TOP
The Alpine botanical garden and the Panorama Trail, with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau lined up across the valley.
WEATHER
Paragliding is wind-dependent. If the morning is cancelled, the flight moves to another day of your stay.

  • Also included: The First Cliff Walk, a steel gallery bolted to the rock face with the Eiger north face in front of you.
  • Season: The Flyer and Cart run in the snow-free months and close in winter. Booked against your actual dates, not assumed.

Lauterbrunnen, Trümmelbach & Birg

72 waterfalls · Ten falls inside a mountain · Thrill Walk
INTERLAKEN
Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland
MORNING
Interlaken Ost → Lauterbrunnen, about 20 minutes. The valley floor is flat, walkable and has 72 waterfalls falling into it.
TRÜMMELBACH FALLS
Ten glacier-fed waterfalls carved inside the mountain, reached by a lift and walked back down through lit galleries. Included.
AFTERNOON
Cableway up to Mürren and Birg, where the Thrill Walk runs a glass-and-steel gallery along the cliff face. Covered by your pass.
ALSO FREE
The path behind Staubbach Falls, which drops nearly 300m off the cliff above Lauterbrunnen village.
Transfers

Grindelwald → Zurich Airport

Via Interlaken & Bern · ~3 hrs

  • Route Grindelwald → Interlaken Ost → Bern → Zurich Airport, two changes, both cross-platform, arriving under the terminal.
  • Buffer Allow four and a half hours from Grindelwald. This is the longest single journey of the trip and it is on the day it matters most.
  • Early flights If you depart before midday, an airport-side Zurich night on Day 7 is the sensible fix. Quoted on request.
Activities

Trummelbach Falls & Glacier Canyon (Included)

Ten falls inside a mountain · Gorge cut by a glacier

  • Trummelbach Ten glacier-fed waterfalls carved inside the mountain at Lauterbrunnen, reached by a lift and walked down through lit galleries. Entry included.

GRINDELWALD

The Eiger holds light long after the village is in shadow — the walk up the Terrassenweg is the best free viewpoint here.
MOVE
Interlaken Ost → Grindelwald, about 35 minutes. The only hotel change in the whole trip.
GLACIER CANYON
Walkways bolted into a gorge cut by the Lower Grindelwald Glacier, with a spider-web net strung across the chasm for anyone who wants to stand on it. Included.

Add-Ons

Canyoning · Skydiving · First Glider · Bungee

  • Canyoning: Abseiling, sliding and jumping through the Grimsel or Chli Schliere gorges with a guide. The most requested add-on, and deliberately not bundled because it is expensive enough to change the price of the whole trip.
  • Skydiving A helicopter jump over the Jungfrau massif — the biggest single add-on available here.
  • First Glider: A bird-shaped frame that flies you back up the First cable, face-down. Different from the Flyer and bookable alongside it.
  • How we quote Each add-on is listed separately on your quotation so you always see what it costs before saying yes.

Strapped into a harness and sent down 800 metres of steel cable toward Schreckfeld at speeds that make people shout. Included.
MOUNTAIN CART
A three-wheeled go-kart from Schreckfeld down to Bort on a gravel track. Included, and the part most people talk about afterwards.
IF YOU'D RATHER WALK
The path to Bachalpsee is about an hour each way on an easy track, with the Schreckhorn reflected in the lake.

OPTIONAL
Canyoning in the Grimsel or Chli Schliere gorges — abseiling, sliding and jumping through cold water with a guide. Quoted separately, not bundled.
OR NOTHING AT ALL
This day is deliberately unscheduled. After Jungfraujoch, a flight and a zipline, most people want it.

Why this route works

One pass, one region
The Jungfrau Travel Pass covers the whole valley network — Grindelwald, Wengen, Mürren, Schynige Platte, First and Harder Kulm. You stop buying tickets on day two and stop thinking about them entirely.
Two bases, thirty minutes apart
Interlaken for the lakes and the flying, Grindelwald for the glacier side. One hotel change in eight days, and the second base puts you at the foot of the Eiger rather than an hour from it.
Adventure built in, not added on
Paragliding, the First Flyer, the Mountain Cart and the Glacier Canyon are all in the base price. On most Switzerland packages these are upsells you discover on the day.

Full policy details

Cancellation Policy
  • 10 or more calendar days before departure: a 30% cancellation charge applies to the eligible package amount. Choose a 70% refund in USDC or 100% of the eligible amount as Atravelx Travel Credit.
  • Less than 10 calendar days before departure: 100% non-refundable. No refund or Travel Credit is ordinarily issued.
  • After travel commences, or no-show: non-refundable. No refund or Travel Credit is ordinarily available.
  • Days are counted as calendar days to the scheduled departure date, in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). The timestamp on your written request fixes when Atravelx received it.
  • Cancellation requests must be made in writing through an authorised Atravelx channel: your concierge, info@atravelx.com or WhatsApp +91 92500 00511. A phone call alone does not cancel a booking until it is confirmed in writing.
  • Quote the booking reference, the lead traveller's name and the services affected. Atravelx may ask for identity or payment verification before acting on a request.
  • A reason is not needed to qualify under the 10-day window.
  • Cancelling some travellers, rooms, nights or services is a package amendment, not a cancellation. It does not qualify for the 10-day refund or credit on its own, and it can change the per-person price for the remaining travellers.
Atravelx Travel Credit
  • Travel Credit is issued as an Atravelx Credit Note for 100% of the eligible amount actually paid, denominated in USDC.
  • The 30% cancellation charge is waived when you choose Travel Credit instead of a refund.
  • Credit can be used towards any eligible service booked through Atravelx: holiday packages, stays, flights, transfers, sightseeing, car rental, visa assistance and other eligible services.
  • Travel Credit is non-cash. It cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for cryptocurrency or fiat currency, or transferred to another person, unless Atravelx agrees in writing.
  • The validity period and expiry date are stated on the Credit Note.
  • Prices at the time of the new booking apply. Travel Credit does not hold the same hotel, room, destination, dates, itinerary, supplier, activity, package or price.
  • If the new booking costs more, you pay the difference in USDC. If it costs less, the balance stays on the Credit Note under its terms.
  • Once you choose Travel Credit, the choice is final. It is not later converted into a refund.
Date Change Policy
  • Request date changes 10 or more calendar days before the scheduled departure date.
  • A date change is not guaranteed. It depends on hotel, transfer and activity availability, supplier approval, revised room rates, seasonal pricing, blackout dates, peak-season supplements, transport costs, fare differences, supplier amendment charges and revised itinerary costs.
  • If the revised package costs more, you pay the difference in USDC. Supplier amendment or date-change charges may also apply.
  • A date change is confirmed only when Atravelx confirms the revised arrangements in writing.
  • Requests made less than 10 calendar days before departure depend on supplier approval and cannot be guaranteed.
  • A postponement or date change is not a cancellation. It does not by itself create a refund or Travel Credit entitlement.
Bundled Holiday Packages
  • Atravelx holiday packages are booked and priced as bundled travel arrangements made up of several interconnected services.
  • Individual components of a confirmed package cannot ordinarily be cancelled separately.
  • Removing a service does not automatically entitle you to a proportionate refund or Travel Credit.
  • Any request to remove, replace or modify a component is treated as a package amendment, subject to supplier approval, availability, revised pricing, amounts recoverable and applicable charges.
  • A value shown against an individual service does not mean it was separately contracted or can be independently cancelled.
Visa & Travel Documentation
  • Travellers are responsible for a valid passport, the right visa, transit visas, entry permits, immigration documents, health documentation and any other paperwork required by the destination or a transit country.
  • Visa decisions are made solely by the relevant government, embassy, consulate or immigration authority. Atravelx does not guarantee approval, processing time or appointment availability.
  • A visa refusal, delay or failure to obtain a visa does not override the cancellation conditions unless Atravelx confirms otherwise in writing.
  • Government, embassy, visa application centre, biometric, courier and processing fees may be non-refundable once paid or submitted.
Refund Processing & Timeline
  • Atravelx acknowledges a cancellation request within 2 working days. Acknowledgement confirms receipt, not eligibility or amount. After reviewing the booking, Atravelx confirms in writing which services are cancelled, the refundable and non-refundable components, the deductions and the refund amount.
  • Approved refunds are processed within 45 working days from the date Atravelx confirms in writing that the refund is approved.
  • The 45 days do not run from the booking date, the date you first asked to cancel, or the departure date.
  • Working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in the United States and India.
  • Refunds are calculated and paid in USDC. The refund is the eligible package amount in USDC as shown on your invoice, less the cancellation charge and any supplier deductions.
  • If you paid in another cryptocurrency, the refund is still the USDC value of the eligible amount at the time of payment, not the number of coins you sent. Atravelx is not liable for changes in the market value of any coin between payment and refund.
  • Refunds are sent to the wallet address the payment came from, on the same network. If that is not possible, you may nominate another wallet, which Atravelx verifies in writing before sending. Atravelx is not responsible for funds sent to a wallet address you supplied incorrectly.
  • If you paid by card or bank transfer through an Atravelx payment partner, the refund goes back to that payment method where the partner supports it. Otherwise another method is agreed in writing.
  • Blockchain confirmations, payment partners, card issuers and banks may add time before the funds show in your wallet or account.
  • Where Atravelx cancels a confirmed booking for reasons within its reasonable control, all amounts received for the cancelled services are refunded in full, initiated within 7 working days. An alternative itinerary or Travel Credit may be offered, but you are not required to accept it instead of the refund.
  • An approved refund is not replaced with Travel Credit unless you expressly agree, or the supplier itself provides only a credit or voucher under conditions disclosed before booking.
Supplier-Specific & Non-Refundable Services
  • Certain services carry their own cancellation, refund or amendment terms: airline tickets, visa fees, embassy, consulate and visa-centre charges, travel insurance, rail tickets and passes, cruise and ferry bookings, event, concert, sports and attraction tickets, special-event bookings, non-refundable hotel rates, supplier deposits and any service identified as non-refundable.
  • Where supplier-specific conditions were communicated in the quotation, invoice, voucher, booking confirmation or service conditions before payment, those conditions apply to that service.
  • Blockchain network fees paid when you sent your payment are not part of the package amount and are not refundable.
No-Show, Unused & Partially Used Services
  • No refund or Travel Credit is ordinarily provided for: no-shows, cancellation after travel has commenced, voluntarily unused services, partly completed holidays, missed hotel nights, missed transfers, missed activities or sightseeing, missed trains or other transport, traveller delays, failure to report at the required time, services missed because of documentation issues, or services missed for reasons attributable to the traveller.
  • If a supplier voluntarily approves a refund in an exceptional case, Atravelx passes on the recoverable amount in USDC under the applicable supplier and booking conditions.
Booking Acceptance
  • By confirming a booking and making payment, you accept the cancellation, refund, date-change, bundled-package and Travel Credit conditions in this policy.
  • Conditions stated in writing for an individual booking (quotation, invoice, voucher or booking confirmation) supplement this policy. Where a supplier's terms are stricter and were disclosed before payment, they apply to that service.
  • A booking is governed by the version of this policy shown on the package page on the booking date, unless a later version is more favourable to you or Atravelx agrees otherwise in writing.
  • For events beyond Atravelx's reasonable control (severe weather, natural disasters, epidemics, war, civil unrest, strikes, government restrictions, border or airport closures, supplier insolvency and similar), refunds, credits, postponements or alternatives depend on the affected supplier's policy and the amounts recoverable. Atravelx helps coordinate with the suppliers.
  • Nothing in this policy restricts any statutory right available to a consumer under applicable law.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any experience for paragliding or the zipline?

None at all. Tandem paragliding means a licensed pilot is strapped in behind you and flies the wing — you run three or four steps off the slope and then sit back. The First Flyer is a harnessed zipline on a fixed steel cable with an automatic braking system. Weight and age limits apply, which vary by operator and are stricter for paragliding than for the zipline. Tell us the ages and approximate weights in your group at booking, and we will confirm against the operator before anything is paid for.

What happens if the paragliding is cancelled because of the weather?

Day 7 exists for exactly this. It remains unscheduled so a cancelled flight, a closed cable car, or a washed-out excursion has somewhere to go. If the activity still cannot run on the backup day, we refund it in full rather than swapping it for a voucher. Paragliding is the most weather-sensitive thing in this package — mornings fly far more often than afternoons, which is why it is scheduled early.

Why a Jungfrau Travel Pass instead of a Swiss Travel Pass?

Because this trip never leaves the Jungfrau region. A Swiss Travel Pass covers the whole country, most of which you would not touch — you would be paying for tracks you never use. The Jungfrau pass covers the mountain railways, gondolas and funiculars in this valley at a far better rate for a week spent here. The two Zurich legs sit outside it and are bought as separate tickets, already issued with your documents.

Is seven nights in one region too long? Won't we run out of things to do?

The Jungfrau region has four separate mountain systems — Jungfraujoch, Schynige Platte, Mürren/Schilthorn and Grindelwald First — plus two gorges and a valley floor with 72 waterfalls. The itinerary uses six of those seven days and still leaves one free. What you avoid by staying put is what wrecks most Switzerland trips: spending a third of your week moving hotels and sitting on trains between cities.

Is this suitable for someone who is not especially fit?

Mostly yes. Every summit is reached by train, gondola or cableway — there is no hiking required anywhere in the itinerary. The Cliff Walk, Thrill Walk, and both gorge walkways are short, railed, and paved. Paragliding requires a few running steps, and the Mountain Cart requires you to steer and brake. The genuine caveat is Jungfraujoch at 3,454m, which some people feel briefly. If anyone has a heart or breathing condition, tell us, and we will pace that day differently.

Why is canyoning not included when everything else is?

It costs roughly as much as two nights of your accommodation, and bundling it would push this package into a noticeably higher price bracket for something not everyone wants. It is the most requested add-on and slots straight into Day 7. We quote it separately so you can see the number and decide, rather than paying for it whether you use it or not.

Is travel insurance really necessary for this trip?

More than usual, yes. Schengen visa rules make travel medical insurance mandatory regardless, but this itinerary includes paragliding, a zipline and a Mountain Cart, and many standard policies exclude adventure activities by default. Check that yours covers them specifically, or buy an add-on. We exclude it from the package because policy pricing varies so much by age and medical history, but we tell you exactly what to look for.

When should we travel for this particular route?

June to September. The Mountain Cart and First Flyer run only in the snow-free months, the Glacier Canyon and Trümmelbach Falls are both seasonal and closed over winter, and paragliding flies far more reliably in settled summer weather. Outside that window this package loses roughly half of what makes it an adventure trip — we would build you something different rather than sell you a thinner version of this one.

Will we find vegetarian food, and why is no dinner included?

Vegetarian food is straightforward across the region — rösti, cheese dishes, pasta and salads are standard, and hotel breakfasts are largely vegetarian. Dinners are left out deliberately so you are not tied to a hotel dining room at a fixed hour after a full mountain day. Interlaken has Indian restaurants; Grindelwald is more limited but has plenty of vegetarian options. Coop and Migros supermarkets in both towns are far cheaper than restaurants if you want to keep costs down.

Can we add days, change the bases or add more activities?

Yes. The most common changes are adding canyoning or skydiving to Day 7, adding an airport-side Zurich night when the return flight is early, and swapping one Interlaken night for a fourth in Grindelwald. Every change is re-quoted before you confirm, so you see the difference in writing first.
