No. This is a land package - the hotel, transfers, the city tour and the listed entries only. You book your own international flights, or ask us to quote them separately for your city and dates. The figure on this page covers the four nights with breakfast, the private airport transfers, the half-day city tour, Global Village entry in season, taxes and GST - everything on the ground except your flight and your shopping.

Yes. The UAE charges 5 per cent VAT, and tourists can reclaim it on eligible purchases through the tax-free scheme at the airport before departure. Ask the shop for a tax-free tag at the till, keep it with the receipt, and validate the tag at the airport refund desks - these are located before immigration for goods in checked bags and after security for carry-on purchases. The festival runs each winter, roughly from early December to mid-January, and it is the single best window for this trip - the deepest mall sales, nightly fireworks, concerts and big raffles across the city. If the property we want is unavailable we book a same-tier alternative in the same area and tell you before you pay. Downtown rates are highest in winter, which is also the shopping-festival season and the best weather, so we quote the real figure for your dates rather than a headline that moves under you.

If you want a dhow dinner cruise along the Creek or Marina, or an evening desert safari with a camp BBQ, we add it as a paid upgrade and show you the new total. The malls and the city are full of places to eat, so lunch and dinner are easy to choose as you go.

Gold and jewellery are the classic buy - the Gold Souk sells by weight at the day's rate, and you bargain on the making charge rather than the metal. Electronics, perfumes and watches are competitive, especially in the festival sales, and the souks are the place for spices, saffron, dates, dry fruit and fabric. International fashion is often priced below Indian retail during the sales once you add the VAT refund. The pace is gentle, and the walking is flat, indoors and air-conditioned for most of it, which suits older travellers and young children well. The malls are large, so there is a fair amount of strolling, but there are seats, cafes and plenty of places to rest everywhere. The souks involve walking on uneven old-town lanes, at your own pace. Very. The Dubai Mall and every major mall have large food courts and restaurants with Indian and pure-vegetarian options, and Bur Dubai in particular has Jain and no-onion-no-garlic kitchens. You will not struggle for a familiar meal anywhere on this trip. If you are strictly Jain, tell us at enquiry, and we will send you a shortlist near the hotel and the malls rather than leaving you to find out on the day.

Global Village runs only in the cooler months, roughly mid-October to mid-April. If your travel dates fall outside that window, we swap it for an equivalent evening - City Walk, BoxPark or an extra mall of your choice - and show the change in your quotation, so there is no empty evening and nothing you paid for that you cannot use. We flag this at the time of quoting, not on the day.

Yes. You can buy a tourist SIM at Dubai airport from du or Etisalat on arrival, or set up an eSIM before you fly, and mall and hotel wifi is everywhere. Data is useful for maps, the metro and comparing prices while you shop.
