Tour Overview

Bangkok's ancient walled temples, Ayutthaya's fallen empire, Chiang Mai's 700-year-old moated city, and Pai's mountain valley where the world genuinely slows down — this 6-day solo Thailand itinerary is built for the independent traveler who chose Asia for exactly the right reasons.

Thailand is the world's most solo-travel-tested destination. Fifty million visitors a year, the world's most developed backpacker trail infrastructure, and a population whose cultural warmth toward visitors is not a tourist-industry construct — it is genuine, documented, and consistent across every part of the country.

This 6-day solo Thailand travel package is built for the traveler who wants to navigate Thailand on their own terms, with excellent infrastructure behind them and genuine freedom ahead. Bangkok for culture and orientation. Ayutthaya for historical depth in a single extraordinary day. Chiang Mai for the north's completely different identity — its own history, its own cuisine, its own relationship with the surrounding forest and hill communities. And Pai for the mountain valley an hour's drive from Chiang Mai where the traveler who needs to be nowhere in particular finds exactly the right place for it.

No single supplement on selected departure dates. No group tour format. Just a well-planned independent itinerary with support at every juncture.

Why This Circuit for Solo Travelers: Bangkok (2 nights) — any solo Thailand trip begins in Bangkok. Two nights gives Day 1 orientation and Day 2 Ayutthaya day trip. Bangkok to Chiang Mai (overnight train, 2nd class sleeper) — solo travelers on the overnight train to Chiang Mai are the original audience this service was designed for. The shared sleeper carriage is a natural social environment where solo travelers exchange recommendations, form temporary alliances for day trips, and arrive in Chiang Mai having already met other travelers. Pai (1 night) — 134km from Chiang Mai (3-hour minivan on a road with 762 curves — genuinely, this is documented), Pai is a small mountain valley town that serves as the traveler's hangout of northern Thailand.

Full policy details

Cancellation Policy
  • 10 or more calendar days before departure: a 30% cancellation charge applies to the eligible package amount. Choose a 70% refund in USDC or 100% of the eligible amount as Atravelx Travel Credit.
  • Less than 10 calendar days before departure: 100% non-refundable. No refund or Travel Credit is ordinarily issued.
  • After travel commences, or no-show: non-refundable. No refund or Travel Credit is ordinarily available.
  • Days are counted as calendar days to the scheduled departure date, in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). The timestamp on your written request fixes when Atravelx received it.
  • Cancellation requests must be made in writing through an authorised Atravelx channel: your concierge, info@atravelx.com or WhatsApp +91 92500 00511. A phone call alone does not cancel a booking until it is confirmed in writing.
  • Quote the booking reference, the lead traveller's name and the services affected. Atravelx may ask for identity or payment verification before acting on a request.
  • A reason is not needed to qualify under the 10-day window.
  • Cancelling some travellers, rooms, nights or services is a package amendment, not a cancellation. It does not qualify for the 10-day refund or credit on its own, and it can change the per-person price for the remaining travellers.
Atravelx Travel Credit
  • Travel Credit is issued as an Atravelx Credit Note for 100% of the eligible amount actually paid, denominated in USDC.
  • The 30% cancellation charge is waived when you choose Travel Credit instead of a refund.
  • Credit can be used towards any eligible service booked through Atravelx: holiday packages, stays, flights, transfers, sightseeing, car rental, visa assistance and other eligible services.
  • Travel Credit is non-cash. It cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for cryptocurrency or fiat currency, or transferred to another person, unless Atravelx agrees in writing.
  • The validity period and expiry date are stated on the Credit Note.
  • Prices at the time of the new booking apply. Travel Credit does not hold the same hotel, room, destination, dates, itinerary, supplier, activity, package or price.
  • If the new booking costs more, you pay the difference in USDC. If it costs less, the balance stays on the Credit Note under its terms.
  • Once you choose Travel Credit, the choice is final. It is not later converted into a refund.
Date Change Policy
  • Request date changes 10 or more calendar days before the scheduled departure date.
  • A date change is not guaranteed. It depends on hotel, transfer and activity availability, supplier approval, revised room rates, seasonal pricing, blackout dates, peak-season supplements, transport costs, fare differences, supplier amendment charges and revised itinerary costs.
  • If the revised package costs more, you pay the difference in USDC. Supplier amendment or date-change charges may also apply.
  • A date change is confirmed only when Atravelx confirms the revised arrangements in writing.
  • Requests made less than 10 calendar days before departure depend on supplier approval and cannot be guaranteed.
  • A postponement or date change is not a cancellation. It does not by itself create a refund or Travel Credit entitlement.
Bundled Holiday Packages
  • Atravelx holiday packages are booked and priced as bundled travel arrangements made up of several interconnected services.
  • Individual components of a confirmed package cannot ordinarily be cancelled separately.
  • Removing a service does not automatically entitle you to a proportionate refund or Travel Credit.
  • Any request to remove, replace or modify a component is treated as a package amendment, subject to supplier approval, availability, revised pricing, amounts recoverable and applicable charges.
  • A value shown against an individual service does not mean it was separately contracted or can be independently cancelled.
Visa & Travel Documentation
  • Travellers are responsible for a valid passport, the right visa, transit visas, entry permits, immigration documents, health documentation and any other paperwork required by the destination or a transit country.
  • Visa decisions are made solely by the relevant government, embassy, consulate or immigration authority. Atravelx does not guarantee approval, processing time or appointment availability.
  • A visa refusal, delay or failure to obtain a visa does not override the cancellation conditions unless Atravelx confirms otherwise in writing.
  • Government, embassy, visa application centre, biometric, courier and processing fees may be non-refundable once paid or submitted.
Refund Processing & Timeline
  • Atravelx acknowledges a cancellation request within 2 working days. Acknowledgement confirms receipt, not eligibility or amount. After reviewing the booking, Atravelx confirms in writing which services are cancelled, the refundable and non-refundable components, the deductions and the refund amount.
  • Approved refunds are processed within 45 working days from the date Atravelx confirms in writing that the refund is approved.
  • The 45 days do not run from the booking date, the date you first asked to cancel, or the departure date.
  • Working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in the United States and India.
  • Refunds are calculated and paid in USDC. The refund is the eligible package amount in USDC as shown on your invoice, less the cancellation charge and any supplier deductions.
  • If you paid in another cryptocurrency, the refund is still the USDC value of the eligible amount at the time of payment, not the number of coins you sent. Atravelx is not liable for changes in the market value of any coin between payment and refund.
  • Refunds are sent to the wallet address the payment came from, on the same network. If that is not possible, you may nominate another wallet, which Atravelx verifies in writing before sending. Atravelx is not responsible for funds sent to a wallet address you supplied incorrectly.
  • If you paid by card or bank transfer through an Atravelx payment partner, the refund goes back to that payment method where the partner supports it. Otherwise another method is agreed in writing.
  • Blockchain confirmations, payment partners, card issuers and banks may add time before the funds show in your wallet or account.
  • Where Atravelx cancels a confirmed booking for reasons within its reasonable control, all amounts received for the cancelled services are refunded in full, initiated within 7 working days. An alternative itinerary or Travel Credit may be offered, but you are not required to accept it instead of the refund.
  • An approved refund is not replaced with Travel Credit unless you expressly agree, or the supplier itself provides only a credit or voucher under conditions disclosed before booking.
Supplier-Specific & Non-Refundable Services
  • Certain services carry their own cancellation, refund or amendment terms: airline tickets, visa fees, embassy, consulate and visa-centre charges, travel insurance, rail tickets and passes, cruise and ferry bookings, event, concert, sports and attraction tickets, special-event bookings, non-refundable hotel rates, supplier deposits and any service identified as non-refundable.
  • Where supplier-specific conditions were communicated in the quotation, invoice, voucher, booking confirmation or service conditions before payment, those conditions apply to that service.
  • Blockchain network fees paid when you sent your payment are not part of the package amount and are not refundable.
No-Show, Unused & Partially Used Services
  • No refund or Travel Credit is ordinarily provided for: no-shows, cancellation after travel has commenced, voluntarily unused services, partly completed holidays, missed hotel nights, missed transfers, missed activities or sightseeing, missed trains or other transport, traveller delays, failure to report at the required time, services missed because of documentation issues, or services missed for reasons attributable to the traveller.
  • If a supplier voluntarily approves a refund in an exceptional case, Atravelx passes on the recoverable amount in USDC under the applicable supplier and booking conditions.
Booking Acceptance
  • By confirming a booking and making payment, you accept the cancellation, refund, date-change, bundled-package and Travel Credit conditions in this policy.
  • Conditions stated in writing for an individual booking (quotation, invoice, voucher or booking confirmation) supplement this policy. Where a supplier's terms are stricter and were disclosed before payment, they apply to that service.
  • A booking is governed by the version of this policy shown on the package page on the booking date, unless a later version is more favourable to you or Atravelx agrees otherwise in writing.
  • For events beyond Atravelx's reasonable control (severe weather, natural disasters, epidemics, war, civil unrest, strikes, government restrictions, border or airport closures, supplier insolvency and similar), refunds, credits, postponements or alternatives depend on the affected supplier's policy and the amounts recoverable. Atravelx helps coordinate with the suppliers.
  • Nothing in this policy restricts any statutory right available to a consumer under applicable law.

Frequently asked questions

Is Thailand the best destination in Asia for a first solo international trip?
For an Indian solo traveler going international for the first time, Thailand is consistently the strongest recommendation — for specific reasons: Thai English proficiency across tourist destinations is high; the country has the world's most developed solo travel infrastructure; the cost of everyday services is low enough that budget miscalculations are recoverable without crisis; and Thai cultural warmth toward solo visitors is genuine and consistent. We have sent first-time international solo travelers to Thailand regularly and the feedback on the country's solo-friendliness is unambiguous.
Is Thailand specifically safe for solo women travelers from India?
Thailand is generally safe for solo women travelers. The specific caution areas: Khao San Road at night (heavy drinking culture, occasional opportunistic theft — avoid after 11 PM), Patpong and Nana Plaza districts in Bangkok (sex tourism areas — easy to avoid with our routing). The route in this package — Bangkok Old Town, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai old city, and Pai — avoids all high-risk areas and stays in environments where solo female travelers are the norm. We provide a specific solo women traveler safety briefing on booking, covering neighbourhood maps, reliable taxi services (Grab only), and emergency contact protocols.
What is Pai actually like? Is it worth going?
Pai is a small (population: 3,000 residents + several thousand travelers at any given time) mountain valley town 134km northwest of Chiang Mai. The valley has hot springs (Tha Pai Hot Springs, 8km from town), a World War II memorial bridge, viewpoint roads through rice paddies, a Sunday–Monday night walking street market, and a concentration of good coffee, cheap food, and guesthouses at every price point. For a solo traveler, it is an environment where meeting other travelers requires zero effort — it happens at every guesthouse common area, every café, every shared minivan ride. It is worth going.
Will I feel lonely on this solo Thailand package?
The honest answer is: occasionally, briefly, and productively. Solo travel in Thailand creates the specific aloneness that many experienced solo travelers describe as the point — the freedom to eat what you want, when you want, change plans without negotiation, and spend as long as you choose at Ayutthaya's Wat Chaiwatthanaram at sunset. The overnight train to Chiang Mai is one of the most naturally social transit experiences in Asian travel — 12 hours in a shared sleeper carriage with other travelers. Chiang Mai's old city guesthouse culture is built around communal breakfast tables. Pai requires no effort to meet people.
How do I handle the 762-curve Chiang Mai–Pai road if I get carsick?
This is the most common practical question about the Pai leg — and we answer it directly. The road's 762 curves are real and they occur over 3 hours of mountain driving in a minivan. For travelers susceptible to motion sickness: take Kwells (cinnarizine) or Stugeron 45 minutes before the minivan departs, choose the front passenger seat (usually possible by arriving 15 minutes early), keep your eyes on the road ahead rather than the scenery, and keep a plastic bag in your jacket pocket — this is not pessimism, it is the standard Pai minivan advice given by every Chiang Mai guesthouse owner. The road is beautiful and entirely worth the journey.
Can I extend this solo Thailand package to include islands?
Yes — and this is a popular extension. From Chiang Mai or Bangkok, a domestic flight to Koh Samui, Phuket, or Krabi extends the trip by 3–4 days at ₹15,000–22,000 additional per person depending on island and accommodation choice. Our 'Solo North + Island Extension' itinerary covers Bangkok–Ayutthaya–Chiang Mai–Pai followed by 3 nights in Koh Lanta (our solo traveler island recommendation — less developed than Phuket, easier to navigate independently, and significantly less crowd-dense).
